A fascination with watches

March 13, 2018

Lately, I’ve found myself becoming a bit of a horologist. Nothing to severe, but I’ve decided that I need a new, good, watch. I am looking at two different options right now.

What I’ve got now

Seiko SNA411

I currently wear a Seiko SNA411 pilot watch. I like it quite a bit. It is complicated and big and heavy and ominous. It looks like a watch bred for battle, but with a stainless bracelet, thise battles take place in an office.

Citizen Navihawk

Citizen Navihawk

Yes, the Navihawk. It is a very busy watch, but it is also striking in it’s own way. Almost vulgar in how much stuff Citizen has fit onto the face, it would allow me to do conversions between units, and calculate basic mathematics. I’ve got a Seiko SNA411, and the Navihawk is everything I love about my Seiko, but more.

Glycine Airman

Glycine Airman

The Glycine Airman is an old, understated watch, and was one of the first to have a 24 hour dial, as well as an additional 24 hour hand, allowing the wearer to track 3 different time zones. Not bad!
